Here is some information about the IELTS Listening test you might find helpful:
The Listening Test of the IELTS exam has four sections (1-4). Sections 1 and 2 of the Listening Test require you to listen to conversations which you may encounter in personal situations, like finding a place to live, having a phone conversation or getting directions. Sections 3 and 4 are conversations or lectures which you may be faced with in academic situations, like in university classes or meetings. The test audio tapes are around 30 minutes long (with an additional 10 minutes to fill in your answer sheets), and have around 40 questions. The Listening Test is scored in half bands, from 1 (lowest) to 9 (highest). TheEnglishLink.com provides you with practice Listening tests similar to the IELTS tests. Each test section is labeled Section 1, Section 2, Section 3 or Section 4, and the audio tapes and question types are modeled on actual IELTS questions. As you listen to the audio clips, you can follow along with the interactive questions and click on the answers you think are correct. When you are finished taking the test section, you can Save your answers and instantly view your results, which are automatically scored. We also provide you with a score interpreter so you can compare your accumulated test scores with actual IELTS scoring methods.
